Time with family–plus the smiles on customers’ faces–never gets old for Cédric Leveille

After 20 years working as a mechanic, Cédric was no stranger to hard work. But after being unexpectedly laid off, he found himself scratching his head as to what the next step should be.

His search led him to his uncle, a Fibrenew franchisee who had bought the business as a semi-retirement plan. Cédric signed up as a technician–a role he hadn’t ever predicted he’d be in. 

But many of the best decisions and directions in life aren’t planned for or anticipated. And thankfully, Cédric found a real drive and connection to the business.

“I found myself unexpectedly out of work, and I wasn’t sure where to go next,” said Cédric. “My uncle had recently bought a Fibrenew franchise, so I joined on as his technician. I quickly fell in love with the work, and especially seeing how satisfied my customers were every day.”

It wasn’t long before that franchise became the one Cédric would purchase and operate to this day–Fibrenew Lanaudiere.

Since starting his journey with Fibrenew over 10 years ago, Cédric has worn many hats. As the business grew, so did his administrative and managerial responsibilities.

“As the business grew, it was necessary to bring on new staff. At that time, I found myself using most of my time managing my team rather than being out in the field where I enjoy it most.” Cédric recalled.

Cédric always felt more satisfaction from being on the front lines. He had a true passion and enthusiasm for working directly with customers; seeing the smiles on their faces and performing Fibrenew’s “magic” right before their eyes. 

“But as we grew closer as a tight-knit team, everyone has settled into their responsibilities. I can go out, interact with customers, complete the jobs myself all while being confident the back office side of my business is well taken care of.”

He has now assembled a team where everyone is deeply familiar with their roles, allowing him to get back to doing what he finds most rewarding: being in the field, satisfying customers, and being the face of his brand.

“I’m very proud of what I’ve built. It’s not just that I can earn a great living, I also get to spend so much more time with my family,” said Cédric. “The emotional return of performing a service that goes beyond the physical item never gets old, either. We aren’t just fixing furniture, we’re restoring memories and breathing new life into something special and sentimental to our customers.”

Cédric’s pride in having built a successful business for himself is well-deserved, as are the the flexibility and financial rewards of being a Fibrenew franchisee. He gets to spend more time with his loved ones while knowing their future is secure. 

“We aren’t just fixing furniture, we’re restoring memories and breathing new life into something special and sentimental to our customers.”
